Word Art Wednesday and Twist of Faith

Hi everyone, this is a card I've made for Word Art Wednesday, challenge 47. You can save the WAW free weekly word/scripture art to your computer and use it in your entry but are not required to do so as long as you use an encouraging or uplifting sentiment on your project.

The Scripture verse on this card is one provided by WAW a couple of weeks ago, which I've printed out and coloured with Victorian Velvet and Antique Linen inks and added some squares of paper from the Prima Almanac collection. The flowers were stamped on the same papers with black Stazon ink andstamps from Dots and Flowers set by Hero Arts. Card Candi in the corners by Craftwork Cards.

I would also like to share this card on Twist of Faith challenge, week 4. This is a very new challenge blog, a place to share your uplifting, healing, inspirational and scriptural card creations.

Thank you for stopping by!

Greetings, everybody. Here are two bookmark tags I've made, starting with two manilla tags, adding colour with a Ranger distress tool and Tim Holtz distress inks. Have used various stamps and dotted pattern inking mask.

I would like to enter these into the Speedy Fox and Friends challenge 126 to use TAGS, either on their own or as embellishments on a card.

Also Word Art Wednesday challenge 47.

ATS Theme Challenge 3 (Spring)

Hi everybody, hope you are having a nice day. Firstly I have some news - I am sooo excited and honoured  to have become a new member of the very talented Addicted to Stamps and More design team. :) and will be starting to post as part of the DT in October.

The ATS challenge this week is SPRING. Yes it is Autumn here, but Kylie lives in Australia and it is Spring there. Spring in the UK is such a beautiful season with the pretty flowers and tree blossom so I wanted to make a card to reflect that.

I embossed some pink card with Spring Flowers embossing folder by Couture Creations, added a little lace doilie and cut a border, circle and some flowers from the Chanteuse collection by Kaisercraft. The sentiment stamp is by Inkylicious.

OLW challenge 106 and Craft a Scene

Hi everyone, One Layer Wednesday challenge this week is to use SPONGING.

Craft A Scene September challenge is to make a scene using TREES.

I've used tree and flower stamps by Katy Sue Designs, words stamp by Hobby Art.

I do find sponging quite a difficult technique and shortly after I had begun this card, I was feeling like I wanted to give up! Fingers were covered in blue ink and it seemed like I'd never finish. But in the end it all came together. I think perhaps I am using the wrong type of sponge. I use make-up sponges but would be grateful if anyone has any suggestions as to the best sort of sponge to use.

Thank you for all the lovely comments you have left recently. Its so encouraging, I do so appreciate them and it gives me a link to your blog so I can visit you! Thank you for stopping by, have a good evening.

Less Is More week 86

Hello everbody, at Less Is More this week, the invitation is to make a card with the recipe TAKE 3 CHALLENGES.

You can look back at the list of past challenges on the page at the top of the LIM blog and choose any three to combine in your project... if you fancy the theme of a One Layer Week... you don't necessarily have to make a one layer card for this particular challenge.

I've made two cards, one feminine, one maculine.

For the first card I chose: wk 5-  pastel colours, wk 15 - embossing, wk 76 - three of something

I embossed some white card by hand with a scoring board, and stamped with flower stamps from the Four Flowers set by Hero Arts, die cut sentiment by Craftwork Cards.

For the second card, I used the recipe: wK 7 - masculine, wK 9 - a touch of red, wK 22 - shades of blue.

I stamped with black Stazon using a coastal stamp set by Hobby Art, and water coloured with Aqua markers and water brush.

Thank you for looking!

Addicted to Stamps have their Bingo challenge this week:

CAS-ology Week 11

Hi everyone, hope you are having a good day!

I made this card by running a piece of white card through the Sizzix Embossing Boutique and attaching two white butterfly diecuts**. This is for the CAS-ology challenge Week 11 to make a card using WHITE.

**TIP: I don't have a die cutting machine but sets of diecuts can be purchased very inexpensively. It's handy if you don't want the expense of buying a machine but would like a few diecuts to use on your cards.

Thank you for looking!

Blue and white

Hi everyone, one of my favourite techniques at the moment is to stamp and heat embossing with embossing powder and then sponge ink over the top of the image.

To make this card, I first made the snowflake background by stamping a snowflake (Penny Black) several times and heat embossing with white embossing powder and using a Ranger distress tool to ink over the top with Ranger Faded Jeans ink.  I did the same with the Christmas tree stamp (IndigoBlu) and the word "Christmas" (Penny Black).  The word "happy" was made with little punched circles and an alphabet stamp set.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Speedy Fox and Friends challenge 125 to make a card using a favourite technique

Creative Card Crew challenge 19 to make a card with a TREE

Artful Times challenge 13 to make something featuring a TREE as the main focus

Thank you so much for looking!

Red and white

Hi everyone and a big hello to new member Sandra.

I started off this card by inking with Ranger Festive Berries ink through the distressed diamond mask, stamped the reindeer stamp by Indigoblu with red pigment ink and heat embossed with sparkling clear powder, added a gold mirri die cut and red ribbon.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Speedy Fox and Friends challenge 124 - RED AND WHITE

Stampin Sisters in Christ: challenge 155 to make a card using BRIGHT COLOURS.

Their Scripture verse this week is "For everyone has sinned, we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, with underserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Jesus Christ when he freed us from the penalty for our sins." Romans 3:23,24.

LIM Week 84 Foliage

Hello everyone, I hope you're having a great weekend! Thank you so much for visiting my blog x

I find one layer quite challenging so have made a few more cards for the Less Is More challenge this week to use FOLIAGE. Hehe I managed to make a one layer Christmas card with this stamp by De Nami Designs, coloured in with Ranger distress inks and a touch of glitter glue and Glossy Accents on the holly berries.

Leaf stamps by Penny Black and Sheena Douglass, words stamp by Hobby Art.

This card has some of the leaves (retired Stampin Up set Garden Silhouettes) embossed in white with Celadon ink by Artnic sponged over the top, and words stamp by Hobby Art.

Less Is More week 84

Hi everyone, the Less Is More challenge week 84 is a one layer challenge with FOLIAGE.

After beavering away for a couple of hours (!) and having made some Christmas cards which I was quite pleased with, I went to link them and realised its a ONE LAYER challenge. I don't know why I hadn't noticed that before! I've posted them in a separate post below.

My one layer card above was inspired by last night's sunset sky. The foliage stamps are by Sheena Douglass and the birds and words stamps by Hobby Art.

Thank you for stopping by my blog!

Foliage!

Hi everyone and welcome greetings to new member, Kathy.

Here is the first Christmas foliage card which I made by first sponging with red ink through a distressed diamonds mask. I find this mask is so useful for many different types of cards, including Christmas and mens cards.

I stamped the large holly stamp (Personal Impressions) with black Memento and coloured in with an aqua brush and Ranger distress inks. Message stamp by TPC.

For this card I stamped the message (TPC) onto a gold edged die cut and decorated it with leaves punched out of gold and green glitter papers and red pearls.

This card was made by stamping the two leaves (Me and Carrie Lou) onto pale yellow vellum, heat embossing in white and colouring in green. I've attached it to the card after stamping the manuscript (A Stamp in the Hand) with Fired Brick distress ink and adding another couple of pieces of vellum.

Well, that's my ahem (non one-layer) foliage cards.

ATS Sketch Challenge #2

Hello everybody, its Sketch Challenge #2 this week over at Addicted To Stamps challenge blog.

I've tried to stick to the sketch but turned it on its side (or was it me looking at it the wrong way after I'd printed if off! LOL).

The stamped images are from the Birdie Blossom stamp set by Hunkydory. As the image is quite complex I tried to keep the background papers fairly simple, hope it works. Finished off with a touch of glitter glue, ribbon and Card Candi (Craftwork Cards) in the corners.

Pink and brown

Hi everyone, I like the pink and brown combination so have made another card for the Less Is More challenge this week.

I've stamped two blocks in pink (shadow stamp by Hero Arts) and overstamped the scroll design in brown. The three heart panels have been affixed to a piece of torn vellum (heart and scroll stamps by Penny Black).

MMM Vintage Theme Week 1

Hi everyone, I hope you're enjoying this nice weather!

A big hello and welcome to new member, Maribel. Thank you so much for your sweet comments.

Make My Monday have started September with a new VINTAGE challenge, this week is vintage fashion.

I thought this would be an ideal opportunity to use my chipboard mannequins and vintage lace, however I couldn't find either of them in my craft room, ggrrrr!! After finishing my card I did find the mannequins but the vintage lace has yet to be discovered, LOL.

The papers and diecuts I have used for my card are all from Craftwork Cards (apart from the little piece of blue lacy paper on the label which is by Hunkydory). Flowers by Prima.

I would also like to enter this card in the Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge to make a BIRTHDAY card.

Less Is More challenge week 83

Hi everyone, hope you are having a good day!

The Less Is More challenge week 83 is a colour challenge to use BROWN and PINK.

I am a bit behind with challenges this week due to not feeling so good but wanted to post the two I have made so far and hope to have one or two more to share shortly!

The first was made using one strip of paper across the card, some little hearts cut out and leaves punched out. The stem was drawn with a marker pen and the words stamp is by Hobby Art.

For the second card, I stamped the little tag stamp (Hampton Art Stamps) in brown 3 times, added some little punched flowers in various shades of pink and added a little sentiment and Liquid Pearls.
